The Office of Disability and Equity

The Office of Disability and Equity serves CCA students with disabilities, promoting a learning environment that focuses on individual needs with compassion, empathy, and inclusivity. Our office collaborates with the CCA community to ensure disability is recognized as a valued aspect of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Students who have, or think they may have, a disability, and need accommodations for applying to CCA and onboarding (including communicating with Financial Aid, Advising, and other departments) can contact us at [email protected] or 303-340-7548 to request accommodations. On demand language interpretation is available. ASL and CART services may request 2-4 days advance notice, depending upon interpreter availability.
Current students who have, or think they may have, a disability and need accommodations should contact us to discuss available support services. Virtual appointments are available, and walk-ins are welcome. Students will be asked to discuss the impact of their disability on their academics, their history of accommodations and support services in an educational setting, any documentation they have, and what support they need from CCA to be successful.
Students should plan on contacting ODE every semester to renew their accommodations. Accommodations do not automatically renew or transfer from term to term, or between instructors. Students can renew their accommodations easily by contacting us at [email protected] or dropping by the office. If students wish to change their accommodations, they should make an appointment with us to discuss.
Assistive technology is available for check-out. If you are unsure what types of assistive technology would benefit you, contact your ODE Coordinator to discuss.
— Available tools include audio amplification devices, visual magnifiers, CCTVs, text to speech and speech to text software, literacy support software, and other adaptive technologies. CCA currently supports college wide licenses for Kurzweil and Read&Write. For access, contact [email protected]
The Office of Disability and Equity recognizes that disability is more than a diagnosis. Disability is also an identity, a number of rich and varied cultures, and a community of advocates, activists, and allies with an important history. While some students who are eligible for accommodations may not identify as disabled, others may feel it is central to their identity, or to the intersectionality of their multiple identities.
