Employee Resource Groups

CCA has a number of employee resource groups for our employees who are seeking connection and community. These groups are employee-led and facilitated, and are a space for employees to connect regarding their shared identities, backgrounds and interests. Below are the current employee resource groups at CCA. Employees can also work with Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to create new resource groups that are not listed.

Latinx Faculty & Staff Association (LFSA)

LFSA was established at CCA in 2017. Nuestro comunidad is made up of staff, faculty, and instructors from across the college who each identify in multiple ways, but belong to the larger Latinx community at CCA. The LFSA is dedicated to supporting our students, faculty and staff, fostering Latinx leaders, and promoting an inclusive community that celebrates culture, family, and education through cultural awareness, professional development, and community engagement. We seek to share our stories, serve as role models, and represent Latinx voices on campus to focus the narrative on using our vast culture and social capital to promote growth and realize our greatest potential.

Black Faculty & Staff Umoja (BFSU)

The Black Faculty and Staff Umoja (BFSU) is a resource group that is committed to providing professional development, networking, and community building opportunities for the Black/African faculty and staff at the Community College of Aurora. Tenets of the BFSU include community partnerships, wellness, and hosting cultural programs that emphasize the legacy and traditions of the Black, African, and African-American community.

The Rainbow Folx Resource Group is a Safe Space for CCA faculty and staff that identify and/or Ally with the LGBTQIA2S+ community. The main objectives of this group are to provide networking opportunities, socialization, mental and physical wellness, support and development in relation to difficulties that can be faced in the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Asian American Pacific Islander Employee Resource Group (AAPIEAG)

The purpose of the Asian American Pacific Islander Employee Resource Group (AAPIEAG) is to serve as facilitators in the creation of awareness, support, and engagement for AAPI-identified students, faculty, and staff. We aim to raise awareness and celebrate the multiple AAPI identities by facilitating intentional programming and dialogue, in addition to holding space for connection, advocacy, and ally ship for the CCA, CCCS and greater Aurora AAPI communities.
