Welcome from the Vice President of Student Success

Dear CCA Foxes

Welcome/ Bienvenidos CCA Foxes! Whether you are a new or continuing student, you have made the smart choice to attend the Community College of Aurora! I am honored to serve as the Vice President of Student Success, and commit to providing you quality student support services that promote your academic and personal success at CCA. While at CCA, I encourage you to Get Involved, Know the Code, and Ask for Help.

Get Involved

The Community College of Aurora is an institution with many opportunities to offer.  I encourage you to join a club or organization – or start your own. Attend our campus events, network with your peers and build your community. There is something here for everyone!

Invest in Your Community

As a community, we have a responsibility to look out for one another. This includes sharing any concerns you may notice on campus with our team or Campus Security, and understanding the expectations required of you in the Student Code of Conduct. Together, we can build a community that promotes the health and safety of all students, faculty, and staff.

Ask for Help

There are many resources available at CCA to ensure your success. Some of our services, include: a laptop loan program, mental health/counseling services, benefit enrollment support, free snack stations, a bi-weekly mobile food market, and more! All you have to do is ask for help, in fact, we encourage it! Each of these support services are intentionally designed to help you be prepared, informed, and engaged in your educational journey as a CCA Red Fox.

I invite you explore the programs and services we offer in the Dean of Student Success tab, and contact myself or my team to identify ways we can support your success.

Wishing you an amazing experience at the Community College of Aurora, and GO Foxes!

Reyna M. Anaya, Ph.D.

Pronoun Statement

The Community College of Aurora is committed to creating and fostering a campus environment that is inclusive of individuals and all of the intersectional identities that one holds. Pronouns (i.e., zir, they, per, she, he) are a vital part of one’s gender identity, especially for folks who are gender non-conforming, transgender and/or non-binary and reflect how we want to be respected in our identities.

Often, incorrect assumptions are made about someone’s gender based off of name or appearance. These assumptions can send a potentially harmful message about gender stereotypes and expectations of name, behavior and clothing. Referring to someone by their personal pronouns demonstrates respect for an individual, and reinforces the fact that CCA is a welcoming space for all.
