AURORA, Colo. – The Community College of Aurora (CCA) is thrilled to announce a major partnership with Civitas Resources, Inc., a leader in Colorado’s energy industry. Civitas has pledged $250,000, a historic contribution and a significant step forward toward advancing education, job creation, and community growth for the Aurora area.

The generous gift will help fund the CCA’s brand new Center for STEM, Power Mechanics and Applied Technologies, as well as the school’s Diesel Power Mechanics program. Leaders say the ultimate goal of the partnership is to foster growth in the energy sector, by giving students tools they need to succeed in well-paying jobs.

CCA President Dr. Brownlee lauded the giftfor preparing the innovators of tomorrow.  “The generosity of Civitas Resources has been tremendous. On behalf of the Community College of Aurora, we extend a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to Civitas for supporting our efforts toward ensuring the academic preparedness of a more diverse workforce,” he said.

The partnership between Civitas Resources and CCA will prove vital to the growth and support of the Aurora community by serving as a conduit between the college and the energy industry. As the field grows and thrives, more people will get the chance to gain a better understanding of the benefits of local oil and gas, and its positive impact on the community it serves.

CCA Foundation Board of Directors President, Phil Smith said, “The CCA Foundation is thrilled to announce the growth of this partnership. Civitas Resources continues to show its commitment to its community and the people who reside in it. This gift will impact our students for years to come.”

“Civitas is proud to serve on the cutting edge of our industry to implement and trial the latest technologies and processes,” Civitas Resources, Inc. CEO Chris Doyle said. “We want to inspire and recruit the next generation of talent to continue building upon the advancements of today to produce the energy of tomorrow. This is why our partnership with CCA is so important to identify and train these students to be the future leaders in Colorado and in our industry.”

The new building is anticipated to be completed by the fall of 2025, with students benefiting from the state-of-the-art facilities starting later this year.

In addition to the facility funding, Civitas Resources has also been instrumental in fostering education through annual college scholarships. The company provides substantial financial aid, including a $250,000 commitment for 25 scholarships, promoting educational opportunities across various fields.
