Assessment & Testing

The Community College of Aurora Testing Center administers placement, online distance education, credit for prior learning and certification tests, to students, the community, and the military and their families. Test administration is done in a professional, positive and distraction-free environment in order to promote academic success and career advancement.  The CCA Testing Center locations adhere to the NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines.

Placement Testing

Accuplacer Tests administered:

  • Writing (English)
  • Arithmetic (Math)
  • Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics (Math)
  • Advanced Algebra and Functions (Math)
  • ESL/LOEP (administered in 2 parts; Language Usage and Write Placer/Reading Skills)
  • CCA students needing accommodations should contact the Office of Disability and Equity prior to testing

Additional placement tests administered:

Translation and Interpretation Entrance Assessment
Spanish Placement Test (for students with prior Spanish language skills who want to place into higher-level Spanish courses)

Academic Testing

  • Make-Up testing is administered at the CentreTech and Lowry Testing Centers
  • CLEP and DSST testing (to earn college credit)
  • Third-Party (Distance Education) proctored exams (please refer to Proctoring Services section)
  • CCA students needing accommodations should contact the Office of Disability and Equity prior to testing

Proctoring Services

The CCA Testing Center is a participant in the Consortium of College Testing Centers for distance learners. We can work with your organization to provide a quiet testing space for your distance education proctoring needs. Email the Testing Center for more information.
