Real Student Experiences:

Arsema

The Career Readiness Office played a huge role in helping me grow professionally. From beginning to the end, they supported me in ways that made me feel more confident in my next steps. They helped me build a strong resume, apply for jobs, and even practice for interviews. One of the things they did was encourage me to follow up with recruiters. That was something I was nervous about because I didn’t want to come off as pushy. But they walked me through how to do it in a respectful and professional way. That support actually helped me get connected and eventually land the job.

In addition to the application process, they have also helped me really think about whether the job will be a good fit for me, or if it is something that I truly wanted. Their support helped me feel more prepared and hopeful during a time I felt unsure.

The Office of Career Readiness at the Community College of Aurora (CCA) helped me land my current job as a College Administrator. They guided and prepared me for interviews as well as polishing my resume to a high standard of quality. They gave me confidence in highlighting the skills and education I learned at CCA in order to make me job-ready. Career readiness extends beyond my current role as I am grateful for the discussions planning for the rest of my career; making smart choices to best support myself and my family. Thanks to their team, I feel more focused and motivated in my professional development.
