Aurora, Colo. – The Community College of Aurora Foundation (CCAF) has named Katlynn Del Dotto its new Executive Director, effective June 1. Del Dotto will lead the Foundation’s fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic advancement efforts in support of the Community College of Aurora (CCA)’s mission and BRAVE 2030 strategic plan priorities. She assumes the role after serving the Foundation for more than four years, most recently as Senior Director of Development.
“Katlynn has demonstrated strong leadership, a deep commitment to our mission, and a clear vision for advancing the Foundation’s impact, said Kara Jorgensen, Director of Human Resources at Comcast’s Mountain West Region and President of the CCAF Board. “Her passion for student success, combined with the ability to build meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and college leadership, positions the Foundation well for continued growth and success in this next chapter. We are confident that under Katlynn’s leadership, the Foundation will continue to expand its impact in support of student access, success, and economic mobility.”
During her tenure with the Foundation, Del Dotto has played a key role in expanding philanthropic support for students and strengthening community partnerships that directly contribute to student success initiatives. She recently helped lead the Foundation’s annual luncheon, which resulted in record-breaking fundraising support for scholarships and student programs.
As Executive Director, Del Dotto will oversee development activities focused on major gifts, planned giving, scholarships, student emergency assistance, and strategic fundraising initiatives that support the college’s growing academic and workforce programs, including expansions in healthcare, structural trades, and engineering pathways.
“Katlynn has consistently demonstrated the type of mission-centered leadership, strategic vision, and authentic commitment to student success that defines the very best of CCA,” said President Dr. Mordecai Brownlee. “Throughout her service to the Foundation, she has built meaningful relationships, advanced philanthropic partnerships, and led with both professionalism and heart. Her passion for expanding opportunity and supporting the transformational work of our institution has been evident every step of the way. CCA is excited for the future of the Foundation under her leadership and grateful for the impact she will continue to make on behalf of our students, employees, and broader community.”
While CCAF operates as an independent non-profit organization, its close partnership with CCA allows philanthropic investments to directly support student scholarships, programs, and wraparound services that remove barriers to student success.
“I am thrilled to step into the role of Executive Director for the CCA Foundation,” said Del Dotto. “During my time with the Foundation, we adapted to the evolving needs of our students and community and celebrated significant milestones. This year, we awarded a record $1.3 million in scholarships, nearly a 40% increase from when I joined the team. I also extend my sincere gratitude to my predecessor, John Wolfkill, whose leadership and mentorship have been invaluable throughout my journey.”
Wolfkill served as Executive Director of the Foundation for 10 years before accepting a new leadership role earlier this spring. Following his departure, Del Dotto served as interim Executive Director, helping ensure continuity and momentum for the organization during the leadership transition. With the support of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and college leadership, Del Dotto now steps into the permanent role with a vision focused on expanding donor engagement, strengthening partnerships, and advancing student success through philanthropy.
