Aurora, Colo. — The Community College of Aurora (CCA) officially unveiled Foxy’s Fitness Center during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Centennial Campus for Healthcare and First Responders yesterday. This newest campus location is home to CCA’s most physically demanding programs, making Foxy’s Fitness Center an important wellness resource in supporting student success and employee well-being. It features fully operational fitness equipment, private showers, and lockers. Programming at the Centennial Campus requires endurance, strength, and resilience. At the same time, many students and employees balance rigorous schedules, long clinical hours, and high-stress environments. Foxy’s Fitness Center addresses needs by offering accessible, on-campus support for physical wellness, stress relief, and balance.
To our students, faculty, instructors, and staff, this space is for you,
said Dra. Reyna Anaya, CCA’s Vice President of Student Success. Whether you’re preparing for a demanding field like healthcare or first response, or simply looking for a place to unwind and stay active, this fitness center is here to support you.

Dra. Reyna Anaya gave remarks at the ribbon-cutting event.
CCA offers academic programs in fire science, emergency medical tech, and nursing. Careers in these fields require physical endurance and stamina to maintain physical activity for long periods of time. While the classroom provides the necessary education and technical training, Foxy’s Fitness Center provides an opportunity for students to maintain physical preparedness for their careers. It’s the product of the Division of Student Success’ work to best prepare students for the workforce.
Foxy’s Fitness Center is the result of true collaboration across campus. It reflects what’s possible when people come together around a shared commitment to student success and employee well-being,
said Julie LaRock, CCA’s Dean of Student Success. This space is about more than fitness. It’s about community, care, and creating accessible support that recognizes wellness, belonging, and access as essential parts of helping students thrive.
Foxy’s Fitness Center coincides with career and technical education (CTE) month, a celebration of the programs designed to prepare learners for high-skill, high-demand careers. By supporting both physical readiness and overall wellness, the fitness center strengthens CCA’s CTE programs and reinforces the college’s commitment to preparing students for the reality of the workforce. Whether they’re protecting homes from wildfires or performing life-saving resuscitation, Foxy’s Fitness Center is now open to strengthen the next generation of first responders.
In addition to Foxy’s Fitness Center, CCA provides a variety of student support services at each of the three campus locations.
A Peek Inside The Ribbon Cutting
CCA staff, students, faculty, and community partners toured the space and heard remarks from college leadership about the importance of wellness, workforce preparation, and shared community spaces on campus.
Students, staff and faculty can access the fitness center by visiting Foxy’s Resource Center to sign a waiver and check out an access card. Located just off the campus’ common space, the sleek new space includes treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, a rowing machine, yoga balls, yoga mats, and lifting machines.
