Community Shows Up to Help CCA Exceed Donation Goal for Colorado Gives Day!

AURORA, Colo. — Aurora, Centennial and surrounding communities turned out in big numbers to make Colorado Gives Day a massive success for the Community College of Aurora (CCA). The CCA Foundation, which manages the campaign for the college and tallies the numbers, says donations well exceeded this year’s goal of $60,000, with a total of $73.569.

“This incredible achievement is a testament to the unwavering support and generosity of our community, who share in our vision of transforming lives through education,” said CCA President Dr. Mordecai Ian Brownlee. “Our donors’ belief in the impact we make at CCA fuels our confidence as we continue to empower students, strengthen our programs, and create

opportunities that change lives.”

Foundation leaders expressed gratitude for the large turnout from the local community, whose generous gifts will have meaningful impacts on students’ lives.

“I am inspired by the deep generosity of our community’s support for CCA! During Colorado Gives Day, we experienced an increase in the number of donors and in the average gift amount. Together, we achieved 122% of our giving goal,” said John Wolfkill, Executive Director of the CCA Foundation.

“That means more students will have the financial resources and emergency assistance support they need to earn their college credential and improve their economic mobility. Thank you.”

Wolfkill also noted, “I believe that the increases we experienced are a testament to our supporters’ excitement around the college launching new in-demand career pathways, a new third campus location for Nursing, Healthcare and Public Service in Centennial, and constructing the 55,000 sq. ft. Center for Applied Science and Technology on the CentreTech campus.”

The money raised from the campaign will help fund scholarships for students, create more emergency funds, and support more students in graduating, transferring, and continuing their education. These gifts can have a substantial impact on the success of students’ education; as CCA students who receive scholarships are 40% more likely to continue with their education. These gifts will directly support more learners to earn college credentials.

Colorado Gives Day, held on December 10 this year, is the largest 24-hour giving movement in the state and one of the most successful giving days in the nation. Last year, more than 90,000 donors gave $54 million to support Colorado nonprofits.

Since 2010, Colorado Gives Day has made it easy to find the causes and nonprofits that matter to you in one place, raising more than $469 million.Learn more about how you can impact a student’s life by clicking HERE.
