CCA Remembers Victims of 9/11

AURORA, Colo. – This week marks 23 years since New York City and the entire country was devastated by a tragedy that took the lives of nearly 3,000 individuals. On this solemn day, the Community College of Aurora (CCA)  joins the entire nation in honoring the lives lost on that day and the heroic individuals who sacrificed their own lives to save others.

The CCA community honors the courage, strength, and resilience of those who faced unimaginable challenges and the families forever impacted by this tragedy. Patriot Day was established to serve as a day of mourning for those who lost their lives and those who responded with bravery and compassion.

Various memorials now stand where the tragedy occurred as a reminder of the resilience of the American spirit.

Each year, CCA remembers and honors the memory of these individuals. CCA President Dr. Mordecai Brownlee said, “We at the Community College of Aurora join our nation in solemn remembrance of September 11, 2001. We honor the memory of all of the lives lost on that tragic day, and we pay tribute to the bravery and resilience of countless individuals who stepped forward in our nation’s time of need. As an educational community committed to fostering understanding, tolerance, and unity, we reflect on the lessons of that day — remembering that in our shared humanity, we find our greatest strength.”
