AURORA, Colo. – Andrea Rascón, Project Coordinator for the Office of Student Advocacy at the Community College of Aurora has been selected to participate in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Enlace Mid-Level Leadership program.

The six-month cohort is a development experience for college and university professionals, academic or non-academic support personnel at the mid-level of their higher education organizations. These include academic department chairpersons, education program directors, student support directors and coordinators and team leaders. Topics include academic and student affairs management, regional institutional accreditation, effective data utilization, higher education advocacy issues and personal interaction with professional search firm partners.

“I am deeply honored to be selected for the third cohort of HACU’s Enlace Mid-Level Leadership Program,” said Rascón. “This opportunity represents not only a commitment to my own growth as a leader, but also a responsibility to uplift and advocate for the essential support for Hispanic Serving Institutions. I look forward to learning alongside passionate peers and contributing to meaningful change.”

Enlace Mid-Level Leadership program participants complete a one-day, face-to-face session prior to HACU’s Annual Conference in the fall and remain for the entire conference as part of program requirements. They then complete eight, one-hour online sessions in November, December, February, March and April. Participants travel to Washington, DC to complete final face-to-face sessions, attend the Capitol Forum and attend a graduation ceremony.

“We are incredibly proud to have Andrea selected for HACU’s Enlace program. This prestigious recognition not only reflects her exceptional leadership and talent, but also affirms CCA’s commitment to and performance excellence and the professional development of our team as a HSI.,” added Reyna M. Anaya, Ph.D., Vice President of Student Success. “The knowledge and experience gained through this program will greatly benefit our campus community and strengthen our efforts to fulfill our mission and advance equitable student success.”
