Dr. Angela Marquez serves as the inaugural Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and the Chief of Staff. In these roles she works with the President to strategically implement DEI in infrastructure across the institution with the purpose of creating a campus environment that is inclusive and embracing of the diverse population it serves. The DEI Division is under her leadership and includes Trio SSS, TRIO ESL, Office of Disability and Equity, Title V Asegurando Program and the Cultural Center. She has over 20 years of experience working in various roles improving access to education; developing practices, programming and support services for students and professionals of diverse identities; and encouraging campus environments that promote belonging, persistence, and completion. Her research centers on studying diverse learning environments and their impact on persistence, belonging and completion of students of diverse backgrounds.
