AURORA, CO. – Ten years ago, our community was shaken by the tragic mass shooting at the Century 16 Aurora Movie Theater. The ramifications of this horrific event are still felt today, both locally and around the nation.
The Community College of Aurora lost 4 members of its community on this day – Jonathan Blunk, Alexander “AJ” Boik, Micayla Medek, and Rebecca Wingo. We pay tribute to these individuals and honor the contribution they made to the broader CCA community.
CCA President Dr. Mordecai Ian Brownlee says, “We send our heartfelt condolences to the countless families and friends impacted by such a senseless shooting. You are in our thoughts and prayers today more than ever.”
The Community College of Aurora and the CCA Foundation are co-sponsoring Saturday’s (7/23), Metamorphosis event, paying tribute to the victims of this mass shooting.
