AURORA, Colo. — The Community College of Aurora (CCA) launched Corporate College, a new initiative to strengthen workforce development in the region. Through Corporate College, employers work with CCA to identify workforce challenges and co-design customized training that helps employees build new skills, earn industry credentials, prepare for leadership roles and adapt to changing industry demands. Training can be delivered at an employer’s workplace, online, or at a CCA campus.

We believe a strong regional economy must create opportunities for people to build better lives. Corporate College advances that commitment by partnering directly with employers to develop training that connects business needs with pathways to meaningful careers and advancement, said CCA President Dr. Mordecai Brownlee. “When individuals can grow their skills, increase their earning potential, and build a future in their own communities, the benefits extend to families, businesses, and our entire region.”

The Corporate College process begins with the employer. CCA works directly with participating organizations to understand their workforce goals and identify specific training needs. Those needs could include preparing employees for leadership roles, developing technical skills, earning industry-recognized credentials, or addressing other workforce priorities. CCA then works with the employer to develop and deliver training tailored to those goals.

The model builds on workforce partnerships CCA has already developed with regional employers. For example, Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center partnered with CCA to develop an English as a second language program for its employees. They met twice per week for 90 minutes while still on paid work time. CCA instructor Patricia Shaw, a champion of workforce training, led the sessions at the Gaylord Rockies property, demonstrating how customized training can be brought directly to an employer’s workforce.

CCA Corporate College is a strategic investment made to meet the evolving needs of business and industry across our region, said Dr. Angela Marquez, vice president of external strategy and chief of staff at CCA. Through employer partnerships and customized training, we aim to help employees build in-demand skills, meet industry standards, advance their career, and strengthen the long-term competitiveness of our local workforce and economy.

As industries, technologies, and workforce needs evolve, Corporate College provides employers a flexible way to invest in their employees while strengthening the region’s workforce. By working directly with businesses to identify their needs and develop customized solutions, CCA can help employers build talent from within while creating opportunities for employees to advance their careers.

Employers and organizations interested in partnering with CCA can learn more about Corporate College and complete the interest form on CCA’s website.
