The Community College of Aurora (CCA) is proud to be the leader in higher education for Aurora and the surrounding communities. For its efforts in pursuing academic excellence, CCA has been awarded numerous awards and accolades.

CCA was reaffirmed for accreditation in 2024 by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Accreditation gives colleges credibility as sustainable institutions that can offer comprehensive education to their students. But it also provides important distinctions from unaccredited institutions.
The Community College of Aurora has been chosen as a 2024-2027 FamilyU Seal recipient. The FamilyU Seal is a national certification awarded to higher education institutions and nonprofits that demonstrate exemplary, measurable efforts in supporting parenting students. These efforts result in remarkable outcomes for the institutions, organizations, and the students they serve.
CCA is a 2024 Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award winner. CCA demonstrates an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion across its campus. The college was recognized for significantly advance the core values of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), as evidenced through mentoring, teaching, research, hiring and promotion, recruitment, retention, and many other campus priorities deserving of this national recognition.
Community College of Aurora has earned recognition from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) for nonpartisan student voter participation efforts in the 2022 Midterm Election. CCA was awarded best in Class Most Improved Registration Rate at a HSI.
