Admissions*

Admissions policy and procedures for each student status below are fully explained in the College Catalog. New students should complete the admissions application online. New Colorado resident students should also sign up for COF.

CCA has an OPEN DOOR admission policy which means that all students are accepted to the college.  Acceptance Letters will only be sent to non Colorado residents and Military applicants to provide notification of residency status for tuition purposes.  Students can request an acceptance letter by calling the Enrollment Services Office at 303-360-4797 or emailing onlineadvisor@ccaurora.edu.

Former students returning to the college after an absence of more than one year (summer term included) must complete the application form for re-admission.

High school students enrolling under the PSEO Act must complete the packet of information from their school counselor prior to enrolling. On approval students need to: apply for admission, apply for College Opportunity Fund, bring the completed information packet and see an academic advisor, register for classes, pay for tuition, student fees, books, and supplies. On successful completion of the course(s), the school district will reimburse tuition costs. For more information on the program and specific payment information contact Cheryl Tomlinson at 303-360-4705.

High school students enrolling but not under the PSEO Act should apply for admission, complete the CCA placement test or provide ACT/SAT scores that meet minimum requirements or provide a signed letter from the high school with course recommendation(s), contact an advisor, register for classes, pay for tuition, student fees, books and supplies. For additional information, call 303-360-4794.

International Students: According to Federal Law, the college may enroll non-immigrant alien students, also referred to as international (F1) students. To better assist its international student population, CCA has an International Student Advisor (ISA). The ISA's office is located in the Advising Center, Room A102.International students must submit all credentials to the College at least one month before an admission decision can be considered and an I-20 (INS Certificate of Eligibility) issued. Please visit the International Student Page for more information.

Veterans should apply for admission and contact the Veterans Advisor at 303 360-4706 for questions about veterans advising and certification of benefits. Students using V.A. benefits must submit transcripts of all previous post secondary education and training not later than 30 days after the beginning of the first semester of attendance.

Residency Information: To be considered a Colorado resident to pay "in-state" tuition rates and get the COF tuition assistance, a student must show proof of residency in the State of Colorado for the immediate 12 months prior to the first session of the first class of the term, such as:

  • Paying Colorado income taxes
  • Being permanently employed in Colorado
  • Holding a Colorado driver’s license or vehicle registration
  • Registering to vote

The Enrollment Services Office requires a minimum of two proofs of domicile, but
depending on circumstances, CCA may request additional information.
If students have been classified as nonresident, they may submit a Petition for
Residency form, available in the Enrollment Services Office, by the first week
of class. If their petition is denied, they may appeal in writing to the Residency
Appeals Committee through the Enrollment Services Office, A102, CentreTech
campus.  Contact the Admissions and Registration Office at 303-360-4700 for more information.

Credit for Prior Learning.  There are several methods for a student to earn credit for prior training and work experience. Read this Guide for details.
