Distance Learning Student instructions (Online & Hybrid Courses)
This guide will help you find your online course

Getting started
To begin, you must know what classes you have enrolled in. Different courses have different login locations.
1) Go to http://www.ccaurora.edu/.
2) Click on the MyCommunity EDucation image on the right side of the page.
3) Click on ‘Login’.

Enter your S number and password. If you do not know your password, try your birthday in mmddyy
format. If that does not work, try the last six digits of your social security number. If that also does not work,
or you have previously changed your password and forgotten it,
try
clicking on "Forgot PIN?". If that fails,
contact Enrollment Services.
a.
You may be using your old C number, which starts with a C instead of an S.
If so, log into ED using your C number.
b. Click on the Student Menu.
c. Click on the Registration Menu.
d. Click on Register.
e. Look on the upper right for a blurb that includes your name and the current time and date. To the left of your name will be an 8 digit number preceded by ‘S’. This is your new S number, which is college wide. The older C numbers were CCA only, and are no longer being used.
5) Once logged in, go/return to your Student menu.
6) Click on View Detailed Schedule (by term).
7) Select the Spring 2008 term.

Make sure that you are properly signed up for the classes you think you are. Pay careful
attention to the section numbers.

This
student is taking JPN 111 161. 161 is the section number.
(This is not an online course)
If your section number is x7x, like 171 or 176, this is a CCA Online or hybrid course.
1) Go to the CCA homepage at http://www.ccaurora.edu/.
2) Click on Programs and Classes.
3) Click on Infosheets.
4) Select the Spring 2008 link next to either Online Courses or Hybrid-Online courses, depending which you are taking.
a. If your course has no meeting dates in the schedule, it is an online course.
b. If your course has meeting dates in the schedule, it is a hybrid.
5) Select your discipline and locate your course.
6) Read the Infosheet.

Return to the discipline page using your browser's 'back' button and click on the second link:

8) Read the notice page, and then proceed to the CCA vista login page.
a. If you have cookie issues, it is possible you will find yourself looking at a page with a list of colleges. Be sure to select the Community College of Aurora.
b.
Once at the login screen, enter your S number (not
your social security number and not your C number)
and
password. You should then see your classes.
c.
If you have recently changed your password in ED, it may take a few days for the change to move
over to WebCT
Vista. Try your old password.
d.
If your password in ED is longer than 6 characters, try entering only the first 6 characters as
your password in WebCT
Vista.
e.
If you still cannot login, call 303-340-7087 or E-mail

If your section number is C11, this is a CCCOnline course.
1) Go to the CCCOnline homepage at www.ccconline.org.
2) Click on the ‘Login’ link on the left.
3) Follow the directions for logging into your course. If you cannot login, contact them at 1.800.801.5040 and leave your name, classes you are taking, and SID.

If your section number is C21, this is a CCCOnline late-starting course.

This is a CCCOnline late-starting 10 week course. You will not be able to log in until the class
start date. Go to
www.ccconline.org and click on the Calendar link.

- Books and Class Materials
CCA’s Bookstore carries the textbooks and materials you will need for your class. The Bookstore also offers discount prices to students on software, if you need specific software for your class. You can contact the Bookstore at 303-360-6336 or you may order books online at http://efollett.com. - Vista Support

CCCOnline courses use their own books
Go to http://www.ccconline.org/, and click on the Bookstore link. Follow the directions to discover what book you are using. Do not go to the CCA Bookstore for a CCCOnline course unless you already know what the book is and can confirm it is the correct book for the course. - CCCOnline
courses sometimes start slightly later or earlier than CCA courses
Go to http://www.ccconline.org/, and click on the Calendar link. Pay special attention to the Classes Begin dates. -
CCCOnline has its own support staff for login problems.
Go to http://www.ccconline.org/, and click on the the Support Center link. However, if you are having problems with registration or need advising contact our Enrollment Services instead.
