Position Summary:    

Located in the beautiful Rocky Mountain Region, the Community College of Aurora is looking for an innovative leader who can take an already highly functioning team to new heights.  Competitive candidates will be creative and energetic and demonstrate a passion for student and staff success.  They will be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining quality services and the integrity of the college. As the Chief Student Affairs Officer, this position provides leadership, vision, innovation, direction, coordination, supervision, evaluation and analysis in the areas of, but not limited to; Admissions, Advising, Retention, Records, Recruiting, Student Life, Accessibility Services, and Testing for the Community College of Aurora in a multi-campus environment.  We are looking for someone who will demonstrate strong leadership abilities and have the ability to encourage high morale and quality student services by displaying a leadership style which encourages innovation, excellent customer service and an attitude that students’ needs are the number one priority.  The individual hired for this position must have the ability to promote positive student relations by maintaining effective lines of communication with student leaders and serving as a strong advocate for the non-academic and extracurricular needs of students.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for working across the institution with students, faculty and staff in the development, implementation and continuous evaluation of a comprehensive enrollment management plan.  This position will provide leadership for the development of innovative and aggressive recruitment strategies.  Insure that the student service offices and staff are prepared for and committed to serving the unique and diverse needs of the college’s students by providing a variety of student services and programs that promote student success, learning and development. Provides oversight for the student services departments by staffing, planning and evaluating the directors and managers of the departments this position is responsible for as listed above.  Develops, oversees and manages budgets for the student services departments within the division. Utilizing application and enrollment data, develops goals and objectives for the student service departments to assist the college in achieving its mission. Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet which collaborates to provide leadership, institutional planning, policy development, problem solving and guidance for the college.   Implements and enforces policies and regulations for the college which pertain to campus life and the division of student services, including student conduct issues.  Work with institutional research to collect, manage and analyze student data for use in planning and development throughout the college. Serve as a leading member of the college’s emergency planning committee to ensure the safety of students, employees and visitors to CCA’s campuses.  Support positive relations for the college by communicating and becoming involved with community and civic organizations on behalf of the college. Remain competent and current regarding student affairs issues through regular professional development and training.

 

In order to perform the essential functions of this position, the individual must possess the ability to effectively lead, communicate, concentrate, analyze data, pay attention to detail, retain learned knowledge, instruct/teach, and demonstrate strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
